Coloma, California – 1850
Daniel Bishop is a handsome and kind miner of coal and gold in Coloma, California. Though his work is thrilling and he has made a fortune in gold, there is one thing he is desperately missing a wife with which to share both his life and riches. He has been writing letters to a sweet and feisty young woman named Hannah James, a jewelry store clerk in New York, and she is eager to join him out West to embark on an exciting new start.
Their connection simply through their written correspondence is so true and strong, that no question remains in Daniel’s mind that Hannah is the perfect woman for him. He promptly sends along a train ticket and excitedly awaits her arrival in Coloma. When she arrives, their chemistry face to face proves to be as strong--if not stronger--than it had been through their letters, and soon, they decide to begin their lives together as husband and wife.
Problems arise when Hannah raises her desire to continue selling jewelry as she had back East. Daniel, out of concern for her safety, initially tries to discourage her due to the fact that the town is known for its history of run-ins with bandits. One day, while Daniel is away working, Hannah attempts to go mining on her own, and due to her lack of experience, she finds herself lost in a deep, dark cave.
Will Daniel be able to save his new bride from danger, and if so, how can he ensure her safety while helping her fulfill her lifelong dreams?

I read this book for an honest review. I really like how Hannah and Daniels relationship blossoms through the story. How patient he is with her and headstrong she is.
A good but very short story. Very interesting, hard to put down book overall as I enjoyed all the other stories bundled with it too. I received this ARC for review consideration and I am grateful for the opportunity to read it.
What a nice book again from Charity what can I say I for one love books were the Mail orde bride is more headhottet and the groom to be a bid bitter headstrong and a battle for a happy ever after I received this ARC for a reviews concederation
this is a really nice gentle story. there are good characters in it who eventually learn to listen to each other making their lives much easier and more comfortable. daniel is a good forward looking character and the backbone of the story. i received this arc for review consideration. i like charity phillips's writing and this is another lovely story showing the hardships of the early settlers but also how they helped each other.
A young man who went west to find his fortune posted an advertisement for a Bride as he had all he needed except for someone of his own to enjoy life. A young lady answered the advertisement and hoped he would be the one for her. The man didn't tell the woman of his gold or his wealth until he had asked her to marry him. He helped her to realize her dream after they were married. A must read for those who enjoy historical western romance kindle books from at a special price and from a delightful author who keeps me wondering what next for the characters. The next part of the book is about other people coming west and the trials they faced.
Can a handsome, well to do young man and a lovely but headstrong young woman who has no idea of how lawless people can be, find their happily ever after? Although I received this ARC for review consideration, I wasn't sorry that I had the chance to read it, and you won't be either. Charity Phillips is the type of author where you are always waiting to see what she can come up with next. Her characters are "feel" real, and there are enough twists and turns that you're not quite sure (but hopeful) that everything will turn out the way that you want it to. Daniel and Hannah's love story leaves you feeling happy that you read it, and unfortunately not all books can say that.
It was only a day or two after Daniel and Hannah met when they were saying I love you. Although this is a mail order bride book, I was somewhat disappointed that the story evolved so quickly into love. What happened to getting acquainted and learning about one another before love happened? No matter, A Mail Order Bride for Daniel is the sweet story about two people who were ready to find someone to love and seeing both of them finding their own dreams come true. Hannah's to own a jewelry store and Daniel's to continue his successful mining operation with a wife by his side.
Sometimes a story is more interesting when everything doesn't go perfectly right from the start, when it leads up to the HEA ending.
