WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN LIBERATING HUMAN SLAVES IS AGAINST THE LAW?
Colonel Kendrick Landry and other central characters from "Feral Planet" return for more classic sci-fi space adventure.
It is the 25th Century. The starcraft Aurora travels to planet Alpha Centauri B-III and the Aurora commander Colonel Kendrick Landry discovers that descendants of the colonization crew of the Green Horizon, Earth's first interstellar starcraft, are living in centuries-old enslavement to a lizard-like race.
The First Intergalactic Alliance does not permit liberation of the human slaves because the planet is not a member of the Alliance and subject to Alliance law.
Alliance law, however, would sanction the Aurora's defense--including even offensive action against the lizard government, permitting its overthrow by human resistance fighters on the planet--but only if the lizard government has attacked first.
Without the knowledge or consent of Colonel Landry, head-strong Major Will Adams devises a scheme to provoke an attack by the lizard command and so justify a retaliatory pre-emptive strike.
The lizards attack with surprisingly devastating force. Now the command and crew of the Aurora will be fortunate to ensure their own survival--let alone assist in liberation of the lizards' human slaves.
"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men." Lord Acton (quote from epigram to Dome Of Slavery)
Dome Of Slavery Colonel Landry Space Adventure Series Book 2 eBook Bryan Smith
I've been looking forward to reading this story ever since I finished "Feral Planet". Mr Smith has done it again. A fantastically exciting and engaging story that you MUST read if you have ever told someone "yeah I like sci-fi".Following another intergalactic adventure with our man, Colonel Landry, the mission takes him and his crew to a far off planet, prompted by a 400 year old transmission from the "Green Horizon" colonist ship's captain "Haskins", in which he explains that with only a primitive bio-dome established on a planet unsuitable for human population, he and his crew of 10000, will perish after just one Earth year. A second transmission depicts a desperate and disheveled Haskins warding off any potential listeners from landing there, with sinister lizard-men alien creatures stripping and shepherding human prisoners in the background of the video transmission. From there, the story only gets more strange...
I was hooked in the first chapter and I loved every page. This book has characters you will love, villains you will hate absolutely, descriptive and imaginative science fiction quirks (so classic and so original, the fictional universe comes to life on the page). The writing is wonderful and clever, with just the right amount of comparable throwbacks to the societal and governmental issues we face today. I prefer stories with grit, and this "Dome of Slavery" has it all. MILD SPOILERS - Savage aliens, good and evil humans, barbaric torture, sex, death by energy weapons (lots of fire), slavery, sex, orgies, and amazing Star Trek-esque spaceship warfare.
This is yet another classic of our time in the sci-fi genre. You will not forget this book!

Dome Of Slavery Colonel Landry Space Adventure Series Book 2 eBook Bryan Smith Reviews
An absolutely fantastic book! A weird and wonderful science fiction adventure, reminiscent of classic masterpieces such as Star Trek and Firefly. Set in the future, our universe has been largely explored and recorded by the multi-galaxy, multi-raced “Alliance”, an enormous federation dedicated to protecting it's people and uncovering the far reaches of space. Our hero, Colonel Landry, is a wise and respectable leader and has been tasked with scouting the planet known as Alpha Centauri B-III, a desolate rock with a lethal atmosphere. A transmission has been received from General Haskins of the Green Horizon expedition after 400 years, due to the ship's inferior technological capability. Haskins and his crew are of course long since dead (a people who lived before the time of genetic advancement that could allow indefinite lifespans), yet Alliance protocol requires a follow up nonetheless. The adventure that follows is one of immense discovery and incredible danger. Contains brilliant and original science fiction detail, with a VERY rich and controversial story, with a steamy erotic edge and some gruesome action. I loved Landry and his crew members, their dilemma and danger had me finishing the book way too fast. 5 star entertainment! Thank you Bryan Smith!
I think the story is rich and controversial, I still consider it to be a classic sci-fi that I loved and enjoyed. I've been looking forward to reading this story ever since I finished "Feral Planet". This story brought me a new taste of adventure that contains elements of both discovery and danger, the universe is immense and that's what I loved the most about it, it allows me to picture the action in an amazing levels of detail and imagination. Great read!
Bryan Smith does it Again!
I didn’t think I could find a better science fiction thriller than “Feral Planet”, until I read this sequel. Bryan Smith has done it again! The author has delivered another fantastic episode in the Colonel Landry Series.
This book has all of the elements for a great read! Science Fiction, Suspense, and Sex! The alien lizard men provide the perfect villain. Our hero Colonel Landry continues to fight the evils of the universe, while providing hope for us all.
I can’t wait for the opportunity to have another read from Bryan Smith!
I cannot say enough good things about this author and his ability to just grab on to you and hold you steadfast until the final scene unfolds. I was glued to the pages of this sensational sci fi wonder. Mr. Smith has created a spectacular series here, this being book 2 of the series, I had the privilege of reading the first one “Feral Planet” and was also taken on an amazing journey with that one. I highly recommend this series to anyone even remotely interested in the Sci Fi genre, because after reading this you will be hooked. Kudos to you Mr. Smith…another hit!
I was expecting Dome of Slavery to pick up right where Feral Planet left off, but in fact the story turned out to be more of a prequel to the events of the latter instead. That being said, I actually consider Dome of Slavery to be just as good, if not better, and I think it does an excellent job of portraying the background of the world that author Bryan Smith has created with the ‘Colonel Landry Series.’
I must admit that I missed some of the characters found in the previous book, especially Tiger Jones and Maya, but the new characters found in Dome of Slavery more than make up for their absence. Maybe it’s just me but I also thought I noticed some influences of previous sci-fi authors such as Orwell and Vonnegut in some scenes, either way that’s a bonus for me.
I highly recommend this series for any major sci-fi fans out there who are looking for a great read that holds true to the genre, presenting readers with what we know and love, while also incorporating some well-executed twists of originality that keep the story different and hard to predict. I’ll be taking a look at what else the author has to offer readers in the future.
