An adventurous young lady and a bored young man find a bit more excitement than they bargained for. Can they find love too?
A traditional Regency romance, drawing room rather than bedroom.
Grace’s four older sisters have married and moved away, and life is very quiet and boring. It’s so stifling being female, occupying herself with her tapestry or painting, when she’d much rather have been a soldier, galloping about with a sword in her hand. She wouldn’t mind marrying, because who wants to be an old maid? But all her suitors are dullards who are only interested in her dowry. If only something exciting would happen!
George Graham is at a loose end, too, now that his Oxford cronies are settling into boring domesticity. But when he learns that a valuable diamond necklace may have been hidden somewhere in his parent’s house, he’s fired with enthusiasm for the search, and lively Grace Allamont is just the girl to help him. Along the way, they find plenty of adventure, lots of trouble — and a most unexpected love.
Book 5 of the 6-book series The Daughters of Allamont Hall. Each book is a complete story with a HEA, but read them all to find out all the secrets of Allamont Hall!

Grace The Daughters of Allamont Hall Book 5 edition by Mary Kingswood Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I have read the entire Allamont Hall series so far and was excited to read Grace ‘s story. Grace is such a fun character. I love her sense of adventure and willingness to step outside the bounds of “good ton”. This was a true “regency romp” with a delightful heroine (and a wonderful hero). I can hardly wait for Hope’s story. I hope the Allamont series doesn’t end with Hope. I hope we find out what has happened with Frank and Ernest and see their stories in the future.
I received an ARC Copy of the book for an honest review.
I am so enjoying this series - it seems to get better with each book & I believe Grace's story may well be my favorite now! It was worthy of Georgette Heyer but not a copycat by any means. I love that Grace was smart, energetic and capable but still totally female, none of the fainting miss nonsense but not the absurdity of being as manly as the men in a fight either. I am greatly looking forward to Hope's story now...
I've read all the daughters of Allamont Hall books that have been published so far, and this new one does not disappoint. Grace is self-assured and just the sort of heroine one likes, not a wimp. She and George, the "boy next door," have a fine time hunting for hidden treasure and other adventures. The supporting characters are well done, particularly the greedy and light fingered Cousin Anne.
This is a book that can be read more than once.
I hope in the next book there is a happy ending for Mary and Merton.
As a reader of Regency romances, I came across The Daughters of Allamont Hall series. "Grace" is the fifth book in the series which can be read as a stand alone but also has brief appearances of characters from the first four books in the set. I received an email offering to let me read this book in advance. I jumped at the chance because I wanted to find out what happened next!
Grace is a delightful young woman who must marry before her younger sister in order for them to gain their dowries. Her problem...too many suitors in love with her dowry! What's a girl to do? Have an adventure helping her childhood friend and neighbor, George Graham find the missing family diamonds.
Grace's story is a delightful tale of a spunky young woman making choices regarding her future. Will Grace remain unwed; choose her childhood friend, George, who enjoys adventures as much as she does; or end up with the mysterious Mr. Wright, a friend of her cousin, Mark's?
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading Regency era romances. I am now anxiously waiting for Hope's story....and have my fingers crossed the series will extend to the two missing sons of Allamont Hall Ernest and Frank!
I received an ARC copy in return for an honest review.
Read all the series after the first one! Fun with a wonderful family of characters!
Liked all the Allamont Hall books
This book is excellent reading, plus it is clean and well written. It is a very amusing story and deserves five stars.
